Cleaning Up Before the Holidays...

Some long-overdue thank-yous for blogging awards:

Jen, at Laughing at Chaos tagged me here.

(Please check out her super-cool  blog! Anybody who loves waffles and seat heaters in cars is A-OK in my book.)

Rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Let's Go:
1) Every time I am sitting at a bar, drinking a bottle of beer, I have an almost overwhelming urge to break it and brandish the bottle, bad-ass style.

2) I start thinking about my annual Christmas letter around August.

3) When I traveled to Wisconsin for Christmas a few years back, I woke up to find a six pack of Diet Pepsi had exploded all over that back windshield of our car. That, my friends, is cold.

4) Don't care about the vampires. Even the hot ones. Just. Don't. Care.

5) I am terrified of flushing the toilet in an airplane, because I'm afraid I'll whoosh out the plane into the great beyond.

6) I throw away TONS of Owen's artwork when he's not looking. Am I supposed to keep every scribble?

7) I saw Owen going potty, standing up. As he peed, he sang, "Oil and Water, they don't mix, they don't mix, they don't mix." I wonder if he thought he was peeing oil?

Hey...I am so glad to have found YOU. Thank you Unknown Mami.

#2 Ha. 2nd time I've read about Christmas letters today. Ironic part...I had just decided this was the year for NO Christmas cards. Now I just don't know.
#4. AMEN. AMEN. AMEN.
#6. I'm an old Mom so let me tell you right now; throw away the papers unless they are extra truly special. Otherwise your house will become a fire hazard. Just a helpful mommy hint. I'm full of 'em.
(I laughed out loud about the beer bottle.)

Congrats woman! Love you list. Badass style with beer bottle, awesome!

Some blogs are good because they are full of wonderful insights and make you think,
or they are light and funny and always make you laugh, or because the writing is excellent, or because the person behind the blog has a great personality that shines through. But when you stumble upon a blog that has all the above, then you know that you have found a gem. And that was my confession to you in response to the 'lurve'. Now I feel slightly exposed.

P.S. I LOVE that you turned the word verification off. It's so easy to leave a comment now that I almost want to do it a whole bunch of times just because I can. But then you would probably turn it back on :)

Now you've got me wanting to go out for a beer with you! :-)

Erika, it's just not right that you're out in California. I think we would get along swimmingly.

XOXO

I would pay to see you break the beer bottle. You know what would happen though. You'd go to break it and it wouldn't break the first time, then you'd get all flustered and try again, but it still wouldn't break, then you'd look up and say, "Never mind" and give the bartender a ridiculously large tip and try to leave, but you'd have to go pee first and you and your bad ass would slink into the restroom and try to disappear.

I totally throw away my kids artwork. Some of it. I mean, scribbles? All of it? What am I supposed to do, frame it all?

Tell me the next time you're headed to a bar. I'm going with you and I'm bringing a camera.

What a funny song he was singing...and what interesting timing.

I sent out a powerpoint card last year and half the recipients couldn't open it!! Maybe I'll send a text this year.

Congrats on the awards! I've always wanted to do the beer bottle thing, too!

GREAT weird 7. Did this one a while back too....

1. Let's do it...(but you know, tell the bartender about it first so he doesn't freak out...but just roll his eyes like we are luh-who-sers).

3. I'm from Hawaii...no cold like that for me please.

4. Fine...I won't do it. I won't tell you of my (whisper...love..whisper) of those stupid V word people.

5. Thank you for adding to my paranoia. Flushing in airplane...added to mental list.

6. MOM..GASP..YOU.DIDN'T. (Just move my stuff over so you have room for your stuff)

7. Funny the things kids come up with.
